Origin and ethics

Every natural diamond we set moves through the Kimberley Process certified supply chain, and stones above 0.3 carats carry a GIA or IGI certificate describing the stone independently. Lab-grown stones have a smaller footprint by definition. The gold we work with is predominantly recycled — as pure as newly mined, without any new mining. What do certificates actually guarantee, what do they not, and which questions are worth asking any jeweller?
